Wurzburg 2016 Convention report

The LUPUS EUROPE Convention 2016 on “Treatment and patient involvement” took place in Würzbug, Germany from September 28th until October 2nd.
The two workshops “Kick Lupus” and “SWOT/Five Stones” were especially interesting for the board, as it gave us an idea of in which direction LUPUS EUROPE should go in the future.

Camille Bullot from EPF showed us how, when and why EPF can help LUPUS EUROPE to get patients more involved.

As always we had excellent presentations by SLE-specialists:
Professor Matthias Schneider: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus – HOW TO TREAT?, European registry for lupus and LULA.
Professor Martin Aringer: What is lupus? About the ACR/EURLAR classification. and
Professor Marta Alarcon: Genetics of Lupus and the IMI PReCISESADS Project.
As “icing on the cake” the German Lupus Group arranged a series of interesting and amusing excursions for us each night. A tour of the city with the very entertaining Night Watchman, sightseeing in the beautiful “Residenz” of Würzburg, wine tasting and dinner in a cosy old wine cellar and last but not least the gala celebration of the 30th anniversary of the German Lupus Group.

Here is the detailed report about this Great event:
